Isabella de la Houssaye, a woman known for going on extreme adventures with her five children despite being diagnosed with Stage 4 non-small-cell lung cancer, passed away at the age of 59 in California. She was a lawyer, art and antiques store owner, and an athlete who completed marathons, climbed mountains, and participated in numerous endurance events. De la Houssaye’s active lifestyle was a way to teach her children valuable skills while also fostering an appreciation for nature. She even continued her athletic pursuits after her cancer diagnosis, completing marathons and participating in ultramarathons and triathlons.

She was known for her incredible willpower and determination, competing in 100-kilometer races and climbing the highest summits on several continents. Even during her battle with cancer, de la Houssaye did not stop. Along with her children and husband, she participated in events like the Ironman Cozumel and walked in marathons in Antarctica and Punta Arenas, Chile.

Despite advanced metastatic lung cancer, she continued to push herself and participate in grueling, physically demanding adventures. Even after her passing, her indomitable spirit left an impression on everyone she met and inspired countless people around the world. De la Houssaye will be remembered as a loving mother, an accomplished athlete, and a model of strength and resilience.
