Alaska Troopers report tragic drowning of 3-year-old boy in Southwest region

A tragic incident occurred in Togiak Bay on Thursday when a 3-year-old boy drowned after falling into the water while playing near the shore. Alaska State Troopers confirmed the incident, stating that the child was unresponsive when pulled from the water by an adult who was alerted by the 5-year-old boy who was with him.

Despite efforts to revive him, the boy was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Togiak clinic. His body was sent to the State Medical Examiner Office for autopsy, and his next of kin have been notified of the tragic event.
