Police are currently searching for 25-year-old Habibur Masum following the fatal stabbing of a 27-year-old woman in Bradford city centre. The woman, who has not been formally identified, was pushing her baby in a pram when she was attacked at the junction of Westgate and Drewton Road. The baby was unharmed in the incident.
West Yorkshire police are appealing to the public for any information or sightings of Masum, who is from the Oldham area. Investigators believe that the woman and the attacker knew each other. CCTV images show Masum wearing a duffle coat with three large horizontal lines, light blue or grey tracksuit bottoms, and maroon trainers.
DCI Stacey Atkinson of the West Yorkshire police’s homicide and inquiry team expressed the shock and concern caused by the murder in the local community. She assured residents that there will be continued police presence in Bradford to conduct further inquiries and provide reassurance patrols.
Atkinson urged the public not to approach Masum if he is spotted, as his current whereabouts are unknown. Anyone with information on his movements since the time of the incident should contact the police immediately. Reports of any sightings of Masum should be made to West Yorkshire police via 999, while other information can be reported online or by calling 101, quoting log 1071 of 6 April.
