Former teacher fulfills 46-year-old promise thanks to Monday’s total solar eclipse

In 1978, a teacher named Pat Moriarty promised his 9th grade students that they would watch a total solar eclipse together in 2024. Now, 46 years later, up to 100 of his former students are expected to reunite on his lawn near Rochester to fulfill this promise. The students were tasked with circling the date of the eclipse on a list of solar eclipses, and now they will have the opportunity to witness this rare event together. The excitement and emotion surrounding this reunion and the solar eclipse event is building, as it is considered a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
