Georgia Governor Brian Kemp embarks on his sixth international trip to South Korea

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp is currently on his sixth overseas trip as governor, traveling to South Korea for a ten-day visit. The purpose of the trip is to meet with South Korean businesses that are already operating in Georgia and to explore potential business opportunities for the state. The delegation of around 15 people, including lawmakers and economic recruiters, will host a reception with Hyundai Motor Group but has no plans to meet with political or cultural leaders.

During his visit, Kemp will hold meetings with LG Group, SK Group, Hanwha Qcells, and CJ Foodville, all of which have significant investments in Georgia. LG Group, for example, is building an electric vehicle battery plant at a large automotive assembly complex near Savannah. The total cost of the trip to taxpayers has not been disclosed.

This is not Kemp’s first international trip as governor, as he has previously visited countries like Germany, Israel, and France, as well as attending events like the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Kemp’s visit to South Korea highlights the strong economic ties between the state of Georgia and businesses in South Korea, as well as his commitment to promoting international business relationships.
