Russian troops attacked a hotel in Kramatorsk, eastern Ukraine, injuring two journalists and leaving one missing under the rubble in the Donetsk region. The missing journalist is a Ukrainian, US, and UK national. Rescuers are working to recover the missing person from the destroyed Hotel Sapphire. The injured journalists were part of a war coverage team, with two being taken to the hospital for treatment. The attack also damaged a nearby high-rise building. Polish journalist Agnieszka Andruszewska shared her injuries on Facebook after the shelling in Kramatorsk.
Meanwhile, the Russian Federation also targeted Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, resulting in civilian injuries. In Kharkiv’s Chuhuiv region, five people, including children, were injured after two houses were struck. In Kharkiv city, eight people were wounded in a fire caused by a Russian attack. In Balakliia, six houses were destroyed and a man injured, while in the Kupiansk area, a house was set on fire, injuring four women.
The Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that the attack on Kramatorsk was carried out using Iskander-M missiles. Residents described the terrifying experience of the explosions, with windows blown out and debris scattered. The authorities are offering assistance to those affected by the attacks. The situation in eastern Ukraine remains tense as the search for the missing journalist continues, and civilians cope with the aftermath of the Russian aggression.
