Shohei Ohtani’s dog, Decoy, stole the show at Dodger Stadium by executing the ceremonial first pitch perfectly. The Dutch Kooikerhondje, wearing his own L.A. Dodgers uniform, grabbed the ball in his mouth and ran it over to Ohtani, who was squatting at home plate. The crowd went wild as Decoy then gave his owner a high-five with his paws. Fans had gathered for a sold-out game, eager to get their hands on a new Ohtani bobblehead featuring him with Decoy. Ohtani, a two-time American League MVP, continued to impress during the game by hitting his 42nd home run of the season. He is known for excelling as both a hitter and a pitcher, but is only hitting this season due to his recent elbow surgery. Ohtani mentioned in an interview that it took three weeks to train Decoy for the pitch and admitted to feeling more nervous than his furry companion. Despite the nerves, the pitch went off without a hitch, much to the delight of fans in attendance.
