A protester interrupted a rally held by former President Donald Trump in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The man, whose identity has not yet been released, will face misdemeanor charges for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and disrupting a meeting or procession. It is unclear what the protester’s views were of Trump, as he jumped over a barricade and yelled at the former president on stage. Trump responded by saying, “He is on our side.” The protester was handcuffed, removed from the rally, processed, and released on Friday. No bystanders, media, or law enforcement were injured during the incident. The charges are expected to be filed early next week. The protest occurred shortly after Trump criticized journalists, a common occurrence at his rallies, where supporters often boo reporters. The district attorney confirmed that there were no further incidents reported at the event. The motive of the protester remains unknown, as the police officer involved in the arrest was not aware of it. NBC News has reached out to the Trump campaign for comment on the expected charges.
