Roger O’Donnell, keyboardist of “The Cure,” shared his rare and aggressive lymphoma diagnosis in honor of Blood Cancer Awareness Month. After experiencing symptoms for a few months, he underwent surgery and started treatment, including immunotherapy and radiotherapy. Fortunately, he has completed 11 months of treatment and his prognosis is positive. O’Donnell emphasized the importance of early diagnosis and urged individuals experiencing symptoms to get tested immediately. He also encouraged fans to support loved ones who are sick, highlighting the significance of communication during difficult times. O’Donnell has been a member of “The Cure” since 1987 and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the band in 2019. He performed with the group during their North American tour last year but had to withdraw from the Latin American tour due to health reasons in November 2023. O’Donnell’s openness about his diagnosis serves as a reminder of the urgency of early detection and the importance of seeking medical attention if symptoms are present.
