Four people were killed in a shooting on a Chicago Transit Authority train at the Blue Line station in Forest Park early Monday morning. Three victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while a fourth victim died at Loyola University Medical Center. The suspect was later found on a Pink Line train through video surveillance and taken into custody. Law enforcement did not identify the victims and believe the shooting was targeted and isolated, with no immediate threat to the community. The motive behind the shooting is still under investigation. The Chicago Transit Authority called the shooting a “heinous and egregious act of violence” and is assisting local police with their investigation. The CTA deployed resources and reviewed security camera footage to aid in the investigation. The CTA will continue to work with local police to determine what led to the shooting.
