New England Patriots defensive tackle Christian Barmore was pulled over by Providence, R.I., police and cited for driving with an expired registration and plate cover violations. Barmore, who is currently out indefinitely due to blood clots, expressed frustration on Twitter alleging that the police officers were unprofessional and racist during the incident. Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo confirmed that the team is aware of the situation and had spoken to Barmore about it.
Barmore, a key defensive player for the Patriots, has been struggling with blood clots, resulting in his absence from the team. The defense has been impacted by his absence, ranking 25th in the NFL in yards allowed per game. Barmore’s incident is not the only run-in with law enforcement involving Patriots players this season, as rookie wide receiver Javon Baker and safety Jabrill Peppers also had similar incidents.
The Patriots are preparing for their upcoming game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London, with uncertainty surrounding Barmore’s availability due to his ongoing health concerns. The team is hoping to overcome these distractions and focus on their performance on the field as they continue their season.
