Thousands of cases of Minute Maid Zero Sugar Lemonade have been recalled after it was discovered that they actually contained the regular formula of lemonade with 40 grams of sugar, instead of zero sugar. Approximately 13,152 cases, each containing 12 cans of the mistakenly sugary drink, were shipped to retail stores in Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio. The regular Minute Maid Lemonade contains significantly more calories and carbs than the Zero Sugar Lemonade, as per nutritional facts listed on Instacart. The recall was issued by Coca-Cola on September 10, but no press release was made public. The FDA has classified the recall as Class II, which means there is a remote probability of adverse health consequences from using the product. Consumers can identify affected cans by searching for the codes “FEB1725CNA” and “FEB1725CNB” on the carton and bottom of the cans. Coca-Cola has not responded to NBC News’ request for comment regarding the recall.
