Dozens of Palestinians Killed Amid Escalating Israeli Attacks in Gaza
Gaza Strip – In a tragic escalation of violence, dozens of Palestinians have lost their lives following recent Israeli airstrikes across Gaza, including a devastating drone strike on a cafe in the al-Mawasi region, designated a “safe zone” by the Israeli military. The attack, which occurred late on Monday, resulted in the deaths of at least 11 individuals, including two children, according to officials at Nasser Hospital. Eyewitness videos depicted chaotic scenes as men franticly pulled the wounded from the wreckage of makeshift tables and chairs.
The situation has deteriorated further in northern Gaza, where reports indicate that hundreds of Palestinians were forced to evacuate shelters in Beit Hanoon amid intensified Israeli military operations. Eyewitness Hani Mahmoud reported that Israeli forces encircled an evacuation center and ordered women and children to flee southward without any aid, effectively putting them at risk of aerial assault from drones.
Witness accounts from evacuee Sohair Abu Ouda painted a dire picture, alleging that Israeli forces conducted relentless bombardments throughout the night in Beit Hanoon, preventing families from burying their dead. “Many bodies are still buried under the debris,” Abu Ouda stated, emphasizing the ongoing peril in the region, where Israeli forces reportedly employed snipers targeting civilians.
Further casualties were reported in Khan Younis, where 11 people were killed in strikes on vehicles, and another attack on a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp resulted in three fatalities, including a woman. The recent surge in violence has led to a staggering toll, with Palestinian health officials reporting at least 43,665 deaths and over 103,000 injuries since the conflict reignited on October 7, 2023. There has been no immediate response from the Israeli military concerning the latest airstrikes.
