The game saw all the scoring in the first period, with Stiven Sardarian and Chase Pietila of Michigan Tech scoring for a 2-0 lead before Alaska’s Chase Dafoe scored to make it 2-1. Matt Rickard and Carson Reed contributed points for Alaska. The Nanooks had one power-play opportunity but went 0-1, while Michigan Tech went 1-2 on the man advantage. Despite outshooting MTU 30-18, the Nanooks couldn’t make a comeback. Alaska will face Notre Dame in their next game.
