Actress Blake Lively filed a complaint accusing her co-star Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment during the filming of “It Ends With Us.” The complaint, filed with the California Civil Rights Department, detailed incidents of inappropriate behavior, including improvising intimate scenes without consent and pressuring Lively to simulate full nudity. Lively also accused Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios of trying to ruin her reputation after she raised concerns, leading to a crisis communications campaign against her during the film’s promotion.
Baldoni’s attorney denied the allegations, calling them false and salacious. The complaint also mentioned instances of Baldoni behaving inappropriately on set, such as trying to kiss Lively repeatedly during a scene and making suggestive comments. Lively, who had recently given birth before filming, felt uncomfortable with the demands placed on her during the production of the movie.
The complaint indicated that Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios veered away from the marketing plan of focusing on a story of hope and instead tried to shift the narrative to explain why the cast had unfollowed Baldoni on social media. Lively stated that she took legal action to expose the retaliatory tactics used against those who speak up about misconduct and to protect others from being targeted in a similar manner. Sony Pictures Entertainment, the film’s distributor, had not yet commented on the allegations.
