Families in Anchorage enjoyed a festive ride on the Holiday Train with Santa and his elves, hosted by Alaska Railroads. The train made three December runs, the last one taking place this past Saturday with tickets completely sold out for both the afternoon and evening rides. Passengers sang carols, shared snacks, and were entertained by a magician during the two and a half hour journey. Santa himself also joined the ride, creating holiday-themed balloon animals for the children.
The train, adorned with holiday lights, returned to the Anchorage depot after the tour, marking the end of another successful holiday event. The Johnson family, who had just finished their ride, shared their excitement about the experience. Addie, 9, appreciated the entertainment and looks forward to coming back again, while her younger brother Liam was thrilled to meet Santa onboard and hopes to receive a toy truck for Christmas.
