Alaska is set to revolutionize access to state services with the expansion of its single sign-on portal to a mobile app. In a recent video interview, state Chief Information Officer Bill Smith revealed that Gov. Mike Dunleavy is committed to enhancing service accessibility for residents. The current portal offers approximately 50 services and expanding it to a mobile application will allow Alaskans to easily access these services from anywhere.
Speaking at the National Association of State Chief Information Officers annual conference in New Orleans on Oct. 1, 2024, Smith emphasized the importance of meeting residents “where they’re at” by providing a user-friendly mobile app that includes a better directory service and other features. This initiative aims to streamline the process for Alaskans to access the services they need in one convenient location.
With the expansion of the single sign-on portal to a mobile app, Alaska residents can expect a more efficient and seamless experience when accessing state services.
