He holds a doctorate in engineering mechanics from Virginia Tech and a Master of Business Administration from Duke University, and is recognized as an expert in his field.

Dave Regnery, Chair and CEO of Trane Technologies, expressed excitement about Atalla joining the team, highlighting the importance of innovative technology in advancing the company’s purpose-driven strategy. Atalla will succeed Paul Camuti, who will retire at the end of the year. Camuti has played a key role in shaping Trane Technologies’ sustainability strategy and technology roadmaps.

Atalla’s previous role as Senior Vice President of Engineering & Technology at Collins Aerospace Systems involved leading a team of 21,000 engineers globally and overseeing technology development, product safety, cybersecurity, and sustainability. He was instrumental in the successful integration of engineering organizations during acquisitions and mergers in the aerospace and buildings industries. Atalla’s appointment signals Trane Technologies’ commitment to driving innovation and sustainability in the future.
