Alaskan Jewish community gears up to celebrate the beginning of Hanukkah with joy and anticipation.

Rabbi Josef Greenberg and Esty Greenberg of Alaska Jewish Campus recently appeared on Alaska’s News Source to discuss Hanukkah and share details about an event being held in Anchorage to celebrate the holiday. The event, called “Cirque De Hanukkah,” will take place on Sunday, December 29th at 5 p.m. at the Egan Center.

Hanukkah, also known as The Festival of Lights, is an important Jewish holiday that commemorates the rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem. The holiday is celebrated over eight nights and involves the lighting of a candle on a menorah each night.

The “Cirque De Hanukkah” event will feature a variety of activities and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. Attendees can expect live music, traditional holiday foods, and special performances to mark the occasion.

Rabbi Greenberg and Esty Greenberg are excited to bring the community together to celebrate Hanukkah in Anchorage. They hope that this event will not only educate people about the holiday but also provide an opportunity for people of all backgrounds to come together and enjoy the festivities.

Tickets for “Cirque De Hanukkah” can be purchased in advance or at the door on the day of the event. The organizers encourage everyone to come out and join in the celebration of this special holiday.
