In Manhattan, a taxi plowed into multiple people in a popular tourist area, sending three pedestrians to the hospital, including a young boy and his mother visiting from Australia. The cab was heading west on 34th Street when it veered onto the sidewalk at Sixth Avenue near Herald Square. At least six people were struck, with three taken to the hospital. The 9-year-old boy, 41-year-old woman, and 49-year-old woman were expected to survive. Three others refused medical attention at the scene. The 58-year-old cab driver may have suffered a medical episode, but no charges have been filed. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
