Australian student Hadi Nazari, 23, who disappeared while hiking in Kosciuszko National Park, has been found alive after almost two weeks. He survived on berries and two muesli bars he found, and water from a creek. A search involving over 300 rescuers and volunteers was launched when he failed to meet his friends at a campground. The search turned up items belonging to Nazari, and he was finally found by a hiking group who heard his calls for help. Despite losing track of time, Nazari was in good spirits and condition when found. He is currently being assessed by paramedics, and his family was seen hugging him at the search base camp. Police Inspector Josh Broadfoot described the outcome as incredible, considering Nazari’s 13 days in the wilderness. Hiker Joshua Dart, who found him, praised Nazari’s survival instincts and the positive attitude he maintained throughout the ordeal. Nazari’s friends, who had split up from him, had immediately started searching for him and were relieved to hear that he had been found alive. The news of his survival was a ray of hope in what had been a challenging search operation involving multiple agencies and hundreds of people.
