An Anchorage attorney, Steven Priddle, was shot outside his home by his former employee, 38-year-old Trevor Stefano, earlier this week in a violent incident that ended with Stefano being shot by police. Stefano had been out on parole since 2021 for a 2009 murder conviction. Stefano showed up at Priddle’s home, which also operates as his law office, and fired shots, prompting multiple 911 calls. Stefano had made comments about going to the house to "shoot this m***" and made inflammatory accusations about child sexual abuse. Priddle and a woman staying with him called the police separately as shots entered the home. When officers arrived, Stefano was smashing windows with a gun and then shot Priddle multiple times before being fired upon by police. Both men were taken to the hospital, with Priddle expected to recover after undergoing surgery. The shooting was captured on police body-worn cameras. This incident was the second police-involved shooting in Anchorage within 24 hours, following another shooting where a man was critically injured after allegedly trying to break into an ATM and holding a female victim hostage. The investigation into both incidents is ongoing.
