North Pole and Lathrop Split Wins at Joe T. Classic Day Two
Day two of the Joe T. Classic featured a matchup between North Pole and Lathrop, with the girls’ team from North Pole coming out on top and the boys’ team from Lathrop securing a win.
Girls Game
In the girls’ game, North Pole defeated Lathrop 51-39, remaining undefeated in the tournament. Coach Robyn Myrum praised her team’s hustle and teamwork, with Miyah Guzman leading the scoring with 21 points. Alyssa Pearson, Jade Skipps, and Tiahna Guzman also contributed to the victory.
Boys Game
In the boys’ game, Lathrop emerged victorious with a 58-50 win over North Pole. Balanced scoring from the Malemutes, with Alfred Parker leading the team with 12 points, helped secure the win. Landon Swinning was the top scorer for North Pole with 23 points.
Both games showcased competitive matchups between Interior rivals, with each team displaying determination and skill on the court. The Joe T. Classic continues to be an exciting event for basketball fans in the area.
