Alaska Anchorage Secures First Collegiate Win for Tyler Krivtsov with 3-1 Victory over Niagara
On Saturday, Alaska Anchorage secured a 3-1 victory over Niagara with Tyler Krivtsov making 33 saves, marking his first collegiate win. The Seawolves took an early lead with Matt Johnson scoring first followed by Connor Marritt capitalizing on a turnover in the Niagara defensive zone. Jay Ahearn scored the lone goal for Niagara in the second period, but Max Helgeson quickly responded with a goal of his own, securing the win for Alaska Anchorage.
Despite finishing 0-for-2 on the powerplay, Alaska Anchorage’s strong defensive play prevented Niagara from having any power play opportunities. Niagara outshot Alaska Anchorage with a 34-20 lead.
Alaska Anchorage will be hosting Alaska Fairbanks in the Alaska Airlines Governor’s Cup on January 18th. Fans are encouraged to wear white to the game, and the Seawolf 5th Line will be collecting donations for the UAA Food Pantry.
