Alaska Nanooks hold annual banquet to celebrate accomplishments from the past year.


The University of Alaska Fairbanks Department of Athletics recently held its annual End of Year Banquet to celebrate the accomplishments of its student-athletes, coaches, staff, and supporters during the 2024-25 season. The event, which took place at the Westmark Hotel, honored individuals who made significant contributions to Nanooks Athletics.

Among the awardees were Jace Peters, who received the Bart LeBon Humanitarian Award and Cary and Sarah Keller Community Service Award, and Kinley Erickson, who earned the Joe Tremarello Sportsmanship Award. Destiny Reimers was recognized with the Linda Moffitt Leadership in Courage Award, while Rilee White received the Harris Shelton Spirit of Competition Award. The Berriochoa Family was named Owen Tinker Fan of the Year in recognition of their enthusiastic support.

Top athletic honors went to Kendall Kramer and Matt Hubbarde as the Most Outstanding Female and Male Athletes of the Year, respectively. Brian Scott, Head Volleyball Coach, was named Coach of the Year, and Brooke Larson received Staff Member of the Year for her efforts in enhancing the Nanooks experience. Braden Birnie and Rosie Fordham were recognized as the NAAC Male and Female Scholar-Athletes of the Year.
