A pro-Palestinian protester interrupted a presentation by Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman, accusing the company of selling AI technology to the Israeli military. The protester shouted accusations of 50,000 deaths and claimed Microsoft has blood on its hands. Suleyman responded by acknowledging the protest, and the protester was subsequently removed. Microsoft confirmed the incident and stated they provide avenues for all voices to be heard without business disruption. The interruption occurred during Microsoft’s 50th Anniversary Copilot Event at its headquarters in Redmond, Washington, leading to the live stream being made private. The Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement has condemned Microsoft for allegedly facilitating human rights violations in Israel through AI technology. Israel has denied allegations of genocide, while reports suggest the Israeli military increasingly relies on Microsoft technology. Microsoft has not commented on past allegations of providing AI technology to Israel and did not respond to questions from NBC News. The Israel Defense Forces did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
