Kodiak Sport Fishing eLogbook Meeting Scheduled for April 30th

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game is implementing several important changes for the 2025 sport fishing season. Saltwater guides will now be required to use eLogbook, and new management measures have been put in place for anglers fishing the Kodiak Management Area. To address these changes and answer questions, a preseason meeting is scheduled for April 30 at 7 p.m. The meeting will primarily focus on topics related to saltwater guides and charter boats, with staff from the ADF&G Kodiak Sport Fish office and Logbook Program office on hand to provide information. Alaska Wildlife Troopers will also be available to address enforcement-related questions.

Key topics to be covered at the meeting include eLogbook requirements, 2025 king salmon restrictions, 2025 rockfish regulations, RQE program updates, and other sport fish-specific topics. The meeting will take place at the ADF&G building in Kodiak and will be accessible over Zoom. For more information, interested individuals can contact Area Management Biologist Tyler Polum at (907) 486-1880 or Logbook Program Coordinator Ben Jevons at (907) 267-2299.

These changes aim to ensure sustainable fishing practices and enhance the management of sport fisheries in the Kodiak area. Anglers and guides are encouraged to attend the preseason meeting to stay informed and compliant with the updated regulations for the upcoming season.
