Wasilla police remove disruptive teens from movie theater during showing of Minecraft film for unruly behavior.

The Valley Cinema in Wasilla experienced a disruptive incident last week during a screening of “A Minecraft Movie” where police had to escort a group of rowdy young people out of the theater. The incident was captured in a TikTok video that went viral with 4.4 million views by Tuesday morning, showing officers addressing the disruptive behavior.

The movie, based on the popular video game Minecraft and featuring stars like Jack Black and Jason Momoa, has been causing disruptions at screenings nationwide. Audience reactions to certain scenes, such as one involving a boxing ring with a Minecraft chicken, have led to loud outbursts and popcorn throwing.

While there have been reports of similar incidents at theaters in Canada and the UK, there have been no reports of disruptive behavior at “A Minecraft Movie” showings in Anchorage. The large police response in Wasilla was influenced by a fatal stabbing incident that occurred at the same theater a year ago during a fight involving multiple teens.

Wasilla’s police spokeswoman emphasized the need for parents to speak with their teens about making good choices and avoiding disruptive behavior in public spaces. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining appropriate behavior during entertainment events.
