The Alaska Sports Hall of Fame has nominated Homer High School cornerback Jackson Snaric for the Trajan Langdon Award, which recognizes individuals who have demonstrated leadership, integrity, and sportsmanship while positively influencing and inspiring others in the world of sports. Snaric, who was born with Poland Syndrome, a birth defect affecting muscle growth, has excelled in football and was a key player on Homer’s state championship team. He has been named a finalist alongside Wrangell wrestler Della Churchill and Nome basketball player Finn Gregg in the youth division of the award. The winners will be announced on April 16 and honored at the Alaska Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony on June 5 in Anchorage. Snaric’s resilience and success in sports despite his condition have earned him recognition for his leadership and determination.
