Citizen facing deportation in 7 days claims no contact from federal officials

Nicole Micheroni, a U.S. citizen and immigration attorney, received a notice from the Department of Homeland Security instructing her to leave the country within seven days. The email, which came from a no-reply address, stated that her parole had been terminated and warned of potential law enforcement actions if she did not comply. Micheroni expressed concerns about the lack of detail in the email, such as the absence of a name or case number, and questioned its legitimacy. Another immigration attorney, Carmen Bello, also reported receiving a similar notice of parole termination. The Department of Homeland Security explained that Customs and Border Protection is issuing these notices to individuals without lawful status, using email addresses provided by the individuals. The department stated that they would address any issues on a case-by-case basis. Micheroni and Bello criticized the department for not verifying the accuracy of the email recipients and for the lack of responsibility in sending such notices. Despite reaching out for clarifications, Micheroni has not received any communication from the Department of Homeland Security, adding to the confusion and uncertainty surrounding the situation.
