Person in custody following shooting at Texas high school that left 4 injured

Four students were injured, three with gunshot wounds, after a shooting at Wilmer-Hutchins High School in Dallas. The students, ages 15 to 18, had injuries ranging from serious to non-life-threatening. Students were seen evacuating the building after the shooting. The gunman was identified and later arrested, with the suspect now in custody. This is the same school where a shooting occurred in a classroom last year. District officials expressed dismay at the repeated incidents of violence at the school. The gun did not enter the building during the primary intake period when students pass through metal detectors, but it is unclear how the gun made its way into the building. District police are continuing to investigate the incident. Classes at the school have been canceled for the rest of the week, and counselors are available for students who may be struggling after the shooting.
