A Florida elementary school principal and a teacher were charged in connection with a house party that involved minors drinking, including one who needed treatment for intoxication. Body camera footage showed the scene leading up to the arrests of Elizabeth Hill-Brodigan and Karly Anderson at Hill-Brodigan’s home in Cocoa Beach. Police found around 100 juveniles at the party, with one so intoxicated that they required medical attention. Anderson, who identified herself as a teacher, appeared to be drunk in the video and denied it when confronted by officers.
Brevard Public Schools suspended both Anderson and Hill-Brodigan after the incident, naming an acting principal for Roosevelt Elementary and planning to find a replacement for Hill-Brodigan. Superintendent Mark Rendell expressed concern over the incident, stating that the allegations were a failure in leadership and a violation of trust.
Hill-Brodigan faces charges of child neglect, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and holding an open house party. Anderson is charged with disorderly conduct and disorderly intoxication. Both women are out on bond, and their attorneys are investigating the case. An attorney for Anderson claimed that she and Hill-Brodigan were out to dinner and returned to find students clearing out the party at Hill-Brodigan’s home, denying Anderson’s involvement.
