Breaking News: Dan Fagan, beloved columnist at Must Read Alaska and radio host, has passed away

Legendary journalist and radio host, Dan Fagan, has passed away after a few months of heart-related issues. Fagan, who had a strong presence in Alaska and Louisiana, was known for his columns at Must Read Alaska, hosting a radio show for KVNT, and his work as a reporter for Channel 2. He was also the originator of The Alaska Standard news blog. Fagan had recently moved back to New Orleans to care for his aging mother, and later moved to Biloxi, Mississippi where he continued broadcasting his radio show for the KVNT audience in Southcentral Alaska.

Fagan’s family has set up a message line for friends and admirers to leave messages, share memories, and make tributes. While they appreciate the love and support he received in Alaska, they are asking for privacy and will hold a private service.

Despite struggling with health issues, Fagan remained strong in his faith and was not afraid of dying. He was described as a man of strong faith by close friend Charisse Millett. Fagan passed away in his sleep over the weekend, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the world of journalism and broadcasting. He was born in 1960 in Louisiana and grew up in Metairie, a suburb of New Orleans. More information will be updated as it becomes available on this story.
