Honeywell Partners with Aker BP to Revolutionize Operations in the North Sea
ASKER, Norway – April 29, 2025 – Honeywell has officially announced its partnership with Aker BP, a prominent oil and gas exploration and production firm, to implement Honeywell’s Forge Asset Performance Management (APM) system across five of Aker BP’s assets in the North Sea. This strategic deployment aims to enhance Aker BP’s Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM) strategy and advance predictive maintenance protocols throughout its operations.
Honeywell’s Forge APM offers a unified, OEM-agnostic approach to asset health monitoring, seamlessly integrating with various platforms. The AI-driven analytics will facilitate early fault detection while providing prescriptive maintenance recommendations, thereby minimizing unplanned downtimes and maximizing asset performance.
Edwin van den Maagdenberg, Honeywell’s President for Europe, Industrial Automation, emphasized that the integration of Honeywell Forge APM equips Aker BP with a comprehensive predictive maintenance strategy, bolstering asset reliability, safety, and operational efficiency. He noted that this adaptable, modular platform can be deployed either on-premises or via the cloud, tailored to the unique needs of Aker BP’s operations.
The solution integrates real-time data from diverse equipment and manufacturers, offering proactive insights through a single dashboard. This flexibility will enable Aker BP to expand its asset management capabilities, ultimately increasing reliability and efficiency.
As part of this initiative, Honeywell and Aker BP will also form an Innovation & Technology Forum to collaboratively enhance asset performance and operational productivity, aligned with Aker BP’s long-term digitalization objectives. This forum will unite leaders and technical experts from both firms to spearhead advancements in safety and efficiency in Aker BP’s North Sea operations.
