Wisconsin Windigo Shut Out Anchorage Wolverines in Midwest Division Finals
ANCHORAGE – The Wisconsin Windigo dominated the Anchorage Wolverines on Sunday, securing a decisive 4-0 victory to take a 2-1 lead in their Midwest Division Finals series. The game took place at the Eagle River Sports Arena, where Wisconsin’s offense flourished.
Wisconsin opened the scoring with a goal in the first period and escalated their attack with three additional goals in the second period, leaving the Wolverines struggling to respond. The standout performance came from Windigo goalie Beau Altman, who achieved a shutout with 22 saves, effectively stifling any hopes Anchorage had for a comeback.
On the other side, Anchorage’s Michael Manzi made 17 saves on 21 shots, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the loss. The Wolverines now face a crucial Game 4 in the best-of-five series, set for Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Sullivan Arena. This matchup will be an essential opportunity for Anchorage to even the series and keep their championship hopes alive.
With momentum swinging in favor of Wisconsin, the pressure will be on Anchorage to regroup and prepare for an intense showdown on Friday night.
