Hyatt Accelerates Lifestyle Expansion with Andaz Miami Beach Opening
Hyatt Hotels Corporation is enhancing its luxury lifestyle offerings with the anticipated opening of Andaz Miami Beach, led by the newly appointed president and creative director of its Lifestyle Group, Lalvani. Following the company’s acquisition of Standard Hotels, Lalvani has focused on leveraging Hyatt’s operational and loyalty frameworks to create unique guest experiences across design, marketing, and entertainment.
The Andaz Miami Beach features rooms and suites with both ocean and skyline views, showcasing a collaborative design by California’s Sunstone Hotel Investors and Florida-based EoA Group alongside Hyatt’s in-house design team. The hotel will boast diverse culinary options, with two dining concepts by renowned chef José Andrés—Aguasal and Bar Centro—already operational. The highly anticipated Bazaar by José Andrés is set to open later this year, further enriching the dining landscape.
In addition to luxury accommodations, the hotel will offer a spa and beach club, expected to open in the coming months, enhancing its appeal in one of the world’s most visited leisure destinations. Hyatt’s strategic positioning aims to capitalize on Florida’s booming hospitality market and aligns with its ongoing commitment to grow its lifestyle division, which has seen a fivefold increase in room count globally from 2017 to 2024.
Despite this ambitious growth trajectory, Hyatt recently cautioned investors about a potential slowdown in revenue per available room (RevPAR) growth for 2025, as leisure demand shows signs of softening. The commitment to lifestyle hotels remains strong, with Hyatt’s portfolio including popular brands such as Thompson Hotels, JdV by Hyatt, and The Standard, setting the stage for an exciting new chapter in luxury hospitality.
