Fleet Space Technologies Partners with Ma’aden to Revolutionize Mineral Exploration in Saudi Arabia
Sydney, Australia – In a bold move to enhance mineral exploration capabilities, Australian space innovator Fleet Space Technologies announced a significant partnership with Saudi Arabian mining giant Ma’aden on Monday. The newly inked four-year contract covers an impressive 12,012.6 km² across key projects in the Arabian Shield.
The agreement, facilitated through a joint venture with Tahreez, aims to leverage Fleet Space’s pioneering ExoSphere platform. This technology promises high-resolution, real-time 3D subsurface imaging capabilities down to depths of 7 km, aligning with Ma’aden’s growth strategy. The partnership marks a significant escalation in Fleet Space’s Middle Eastern operations, building upon a previous memorandum of understanding signed in January.
Fleet Space’s ExoSphere platform, utilized by major global miners such as Rio Tinto and Barrick, boasts a network of low Earth orbit satellites and advanced AI technologies for delivering rapid insights and AI-driven drilling targets to field teams in previously challenging remote locations. Importantly, the system is designed with near-zero environmental impact, offering a sustainable approach to mineral exploration.
Ma’aden’s CEO, Bob Wilt, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, emphasizing the integration of advanced space technology with real-time geophysical data and AI. Wilt stated that this initiative sets a new standard for exploration data intelligence, supporting ambitions aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative for economic transformation.
As Fleet Space and Ma’aden embark on this partnership, the potential to redefine mining exploration in Saudi Arabia and beyond is clear. The combination of cutting-edge technology and forward-thinking strategies hints at a promising future for the mining sector amid evolving global demands.
