An unreviewed seismic event recently occurred in Alaska, registering as an earthquake. The earthquake struck approximately 61 miles southeast of McGrath and generated ripples across a vast area, being felt by residents in nearby communities.
The earthquake’s location put it 73 miles northeast of Lime Village and Takotna, at a distance of 78 miles northwest from Hayes Volcano. Notably, it was 84 miles southwest of Telida, 96 miles northwest of Mt. Spurr, and 99 miles northeast of Sleetmute. Furthermore, the event was recorded at distances of 102 miles east of Red Devil, 105 miles west of Skwentna, and 117 miles east of Flat.
Residents as far away as 163 miles from the epicenter in Anchorage and 270 miles from Fairbanks might have felt minor tremors as a result of this earthquake. However, no immediate reports of damage or injuries have surfaced following this seismic occurrence.
