Jeramiah Brown Chooses PC for PA Program

May 27, 2025 – After a thorough nationwide search for graduate programs, Jeramiah Brown found his ideal fit at Presbyterian College (PC). Hailing from Alaska, Brown faced limited options for pursuing a career as a physician assistant (PA). This situation prompted him to explore programs across the United States.

Brown was particularly impressed with the PC Physician Assistant Program, attracted to its intimate campus environment, akin to his hometown in Alaska. He believes this setting will be instrumental in his future medical practice back home. His decision was solidified after a positive interaction with the faculty during his interview.

“They were enthusiastic and genuinely invested in our success,” said Brown, reflecting on what made PC stand out among his options. A graduate of the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Brown gained hands-on research experience during his time there, contributing to projects that focused on cancer response to radiation and genetic sequencing.

His research experiences, including work with the MinION sequencer for pathogen tracking, provided Brown with valuable insights into clinical research. Now in his first year at PC, he is applying his background to his studies and has shifted his focus from orthopedics to cardiology.
