Country singer Conner Smith was involved in a tragic car accident in Nashville on Sunday night that resulted in the death of a 77-year-old woman, Dorothy Dobbins. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. CT on 3rd Avenue North, where Smith was driving his Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck and struck Dobbins while she was in a crosswalk. Dobbins, a local resident, was taken to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries.
Smith’s attorney, Worrick G. Robinson, confirmed that the 24-year-old artist was involved in the accident, expressing condolences to Dobbins’ family during this difficult time. Robinson stated that Smith is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation into the incident. Preliminary findings from authorities suggest that Smith did not yield the right of way to Dobbins, although he showed no signs of impairment at the time of the accident. As of now, no charges have been filed against him.
Conner Smith, who hails from Nashville, is signed to Big Machine Records’ Valory label and released his debut studio album, “Smoky Mountains,” last year. The community is mourning the loss of Dobbins, and the situation continues to develop as the investigation unfolds.
