Alaska Airlines renews its partnership with the Portland Thorns and becomes the official airline of the city’s upcoming WNBA team, further solidifying its commitment to women’s sports in Portland. This partnership was announced by Eric Edge, Alaska Airlines’ managing director of marketing and advertising. The airline has had long-standing partnerships in the WNBA and NWSL for over a decade.

In a show of support for women’s sports, Thorns players greeted travelers at the Portland International Airport and handed out roses. Thorns forward Morgan Weaver praised Alaska Airlines for empowering women and expressed excitement for the collaboration with the WNBA. Guests wearing Thorns jerseys will receive priority boarding when departing from the Portland airport.

Meanwhile, the city is eagerly awaiting the arrival of Portland’s WNBA team, which is set to begin playing in the 2026 season.
